From the house to Añasco's beach and Córcega beach it is just 20 minutes!
From the house to the beaches at Rincón (which are world famous for surfing) it is just 35 minutes!
From the house to the beaches at Aguadilla (Crash Boat and Wilderness - also great for surfing) is just 40 minutes! The photo above was taken at Wildernees on a regular day. If you continue a little further, there are also great beaches in the Atlantic at Isabela, just minutes away!
Going south you can reach the wonderful beaches of Boqueron or Combate in 35 to 45 minutes. There are also other beaches at Buyé (closer) and at the southernmost tip, at El Faro.
La Parguera is a spot you don't want to miss, especially during a moonless night. There you can take a boat and see a wonderful spectacle: the phosphorescent bay, where you'll see the water shinning by millions of microscopic organisms that glow when the water is moved by boats, fishes, your hand or swimmers (yes, you might be allowed to jump from the boat and see your body glowing in the darkness while you swim!). The current rate for the boat ride is about $5.00 p/p.
Also going south you can get to the beautiful beaches of Guanica: Caña Gorda (very shallow), Copa Marina, or you can take a boat to Gilligan's Island. You may also want to visit the National Dry Forest there.
Two trips you can take the same day are the Camuy Cave Park and the Arecibo Radio Observatory (thye world's largest radio telescope). The caves are a little over an hour away, and the radio telescope is a little further away.
NOTE: Road 3108 is new and isn't shown in Google maps yet. Whenever you must get to PR-2, it is best to take it from Road 3108, as it is just a 1 mile drive in a straight line from the house.

De la casa a la playa de Añasco y Córcega es solamente 20 minutos!
Las playas de Rincón (conocido como la capital del surfing) están a tan solo 35 minutos!
De la casa a las playas de Aguadilla (Crash Boat y Wilderness - también excelente para surfear) son sólo 40 minutos! La foto arriba fue tomada en Wilderness. Si continúa adelante puede llegar a Isabela, donde también hay excelentes playas ya en el Océano Atlántico.
Viajando hacia el sur puede llegar a las maravillosas playas de Boquerón o El Combate entre 35 a 45 minutos. También hay otras playas, como Buyé (más cerca) o El Faro, en el extremo sur-oeste de la isla.
La Parguera es un lugar que no debe perderse, especialmente durante una noche sin luna. Desde ahí puede tomar un bote y ver un espectáculo maravilloso: la Bahía Fosforescente, donde verá el agua brillando por millones de organismos microscópicos que se iluminan cuando el agua es agitada por los botes, peces, por su mano o por nadadores (sí, podrían dejarle tirarse desde el bote y nadar para que tenga la experiencia de ver su cuerpo brillar en la oscuridad a medida que nada en esas aguas). La tarifa actual por el viaje en bote es de $5.00 p/p.
También viajando al sur puede llegar a las preciosas playas de Guánica: Caña Gorda (muy llana), Copa Marina, o puede tomar un bote a la Isla de Gilligan. También podría visitar el Bosque Seco, donde admirará una gran variedad de cactus y plantas exóticas.
Dos lugares que puede visitar en el mismo viaje son el Parque de las Cavernas de Camuy y el Radio Observatorio de Arecibo (el radio telescopio más grande del mundo). Las cavernas están a poco más de una hora de la casa, y el radio telescopio un poco más adelante.
NOTA: La Carretera 3108 es nueva y aún no aparece en los mapas de Google. Siempre que deba viajar por la Carr. #2 es mejor tomarla por medio de dicha carretera, ya que está a solo una milla en línea recta desde la casa. Road 3108 is new and isn't shown in Google maps yet.
